Paul Pruett was born and raised in rural Hickory County of west central Missouri. He raised a large family in the Ozarks where he continues to live with his wife of 50 years, Jeannie Pruett. Paul’s work is created with native wood from the region. They are always unique and the product of his drawing out the inimitable features of the wood that were put there by nature.

Paul spends hours and sometimes days in his shop working on one piece until the beautiful image he saw in the original block of wood has been revealed. Sometimes, a piece of the art worked on for hours is discarded because a flaw in the wood is discovered in the various creative phases.
